This is just a small selection of the many letters of thanks we have received.

Dear Karen,

This thank you note will never really sufficiently express my gratitude to you and every member of staff for Saturday evening. It had been a lifelong wish that all our friends and loved ones would all congregate on just one occasion and our Silver Wedding Anniversary celebration on Saturday was a perfect excuse. You literally made our evening such a wonderful time to forever remember.

The restaurant area was beautifully decorated; Tracy was absolutely correct when she telephoned Saturday morning to recommend that the disco and dancing be in the other bar; the waitresses and bar staff were first-class and your chefs produced the most outstanding buffet we could have imagined; the breakfast was first-class also and everyone remarked on their excellent rooms. Finally, I have to say that Brian is the best ambassador ever and he worked so very, very hard to ensure the 100% success of the evening. Thanks to all. Thank goodness we chose your venue.

Dear Tracy,

I would like to thank you and all of the staff involved in making my mother's 80th birthday celebration such a success. Many of the guests told me how much they enjoyed the lunch.

In particular, I thought that all the serving staff were very helpful and efficient - both in the bar and restaurant. Thanks also for the extra touches such as balloons, and bringing in the birthday cakes. It all helped to make it a special day for Mum.

Please would you thank the chef and all of the kitchen staff - I thought they coped very well with such a large party, and the food was served as fast as we could reasonably expect.

One minor point of criticism - I only realised when I paid the bill that we were not served the wine that we actually ordered in advance. I think it must have been the house red and white because it was actually slightly cheaper than the wine I requested in my letter. There seems to have been a communications problem!

Quite a few guests who had travelled from outside Kent thought that the hotel looked very nice, and some said they would have stayed overnight if they had realised. Perhaps you will have some extra custom in the future as a result.

Thanks again to everyone for their efforts - nothing was too much trouble.

I would like to congratulate you and your staff on the splendid service you provided us on valentines evening. The food was wonderful and the attitude of the staff was second to none. The evening was completed by the proposal of marriage to my girlfriend, which I am happy to say she accepted. We very much look forward to visiting you in the near future and on our anniversary.
